ANALOG RETREAT 2027 Join us for a three-day retreat in Jaipur and Amer from 15–17 January 2027. Slow down, look closely and explore various ways of making images. We’ll work with film photography, but there’s also space for drawing, observing, experimenting and making – following your own unique perspective. Cost: ₹8,500 Early Bird: ₹7,700 until 31 October 2026 Book Now Description: This retreat is perfect for analogue photography enthusiasts and those eager to learn and explore the analogue medium. We’ll wander through the Old City of Jaipur and Amer, observing and photographing on film. We’ll also delve into different ways of seeing and making images, working with B&W film developing and cyanotype. Feel free to sketch or interpret your own images as you like! On the final day, our creations will be showcased in a shared exhibition at JKK, open to participants and visitors alike. ₹8,500 (including ₹1,296 GST) covers three days of the Analog Retreat, including guided film photography, black-and-white film developing, drawing and landscape study, cyanotype making, programme materials and the final exhibition/display.

FAQs 01. Do I need to be a published writer? No. The residency is for budding writers. A project and the will to work on it are enough. 02. What can I write during the residency? Anything. Fiction, poetry, essays, scripts, research, a journal. You may also arrive with a blank page and find your project here. 03. Is there a fixed schedule or classes? No. The programme is self-paced. There are optional evening sessions and a light weekly rhythm. You can join as much or as little as you like. 04. What facilities will I have? A room on campus, internet, shared computers, the library, other media and archives, and access to everything happening on the estate that month. 05. Should I bring my own laptop? Yes, if you have one. Shared computers are available if you do not. Bring your notebooks, books that keep you company, and anything that helps you write. 06. Where does the residency take place? At Prime Habitare, an art estate in a village in the Aravali Hills near Jaipur, Rajasthan. 07. How long is the residency? One month. Fellows are expected to stay on campus for the full period. 08. Is there accommodation? Yes. Every fellow stays on the estate for the whole month and gets to live near the hills, close to village life. 09. Can I leave campus during the month? Yes, for short visits to Jaipur or nearby places. Please let the residency team know.
